Orden de Malta
The volunteer doctors of the honorable Knights of the Order of Malta. a christian organization of the Roman Catholic Church, dedicated to the service of the poor throughout the world. Since 2004, the Miami branch of this organization has realized their humanitarian mission in the rural communities of the Dominican Republic benefiting thousands of people of scarce resources through the two medical missions that they perform yearly. Their medical equipment is integrated by specialists in cardiology, pediatrics, urology, gastroenterology, gynecology, oncology, emergency and internal medicine, dermatology, and dentistry and through the ‘Cooperadores’ who help those that require attention that reside in the fields of Cibao.
All of the medications are also donated by the team of volunteer doctors from the Order of Malta.
