ILAC Mission, with the support of groups both national and foreign, has facilitated the construction of more than 15 aqueducts in rural areas, using gravity, that directly benefit more than 50,000 people. To guarantee the quality of the water at the point of consumption, a water purifier program, whose contents are simply two buckets and a piece of activated carbon.
These purifiers are assembled at ILAC and distributed to the families of the communities at affordable prices. The Chemistry Department of Creighton University is involved with the evaluation, supervision of quality of assembly and functionality, as well as the instruction to the families in their use and maintenance. Thanks to the installation of these water purifiers, there has been a notable reduction in gastrointestinal diseases in these communities, synonymous with a better life and well being.
